A Rainy Vermont Wedding // Matt + Sam
The forecast was rain. And rain. And rain. Rain mixed in with wind and chilly temperatures.
Matt and Sam had been planning their destination wedding in Vermont for the beginning of September and dreaming of walking barefoot to their beachfront, mountain laid ceremony. Days prior, they sat and listened to the weather man tell them it wasn’t going to happen. So, we celebrated a day early, and then we celebrated some more.
Your wedding day can be anything you want. It can be a vow reading, champagne drinking, get dressed in your wedding garb and galavant in the mountains the day before and then lather, rinse and repeat it for the next day. It can be dressing your best friend in a bear costume so he can act as the ring “bear,” and letting your dog roam the reception. It can be huddling everyone into a tiny space to watch your ceremony and then flitting off into the rain and letting your hair get mussed and your feet get dirty. That’s what it meant for Matt and Sam, and at the end of the day, as they danced in the puddles in the dark of the night, they were enamored with their experience. Though their plans may have shifted, it was them, and it was perfect.
